Hello friends! Once again I would like to share with you about my little experiences here.
In Essen, near to our house there is a nice old town hall, the municipal corporation office. It is 100 years old and the local people wanted to celebrate its 100th anniversary. The very structure and beauty of this house is itself enough to declare that there was a rich community here lived and there is a strong history bound with human beings who are still proud about it.
The interesting thing was that the feast started with an ecumenical Service in my Parish Church. The protestant pastor gave the sermon. His wife played solo clarinet. My parish priest conducted the liturgy. It was a nice beginning.
As you know, a Feast means there will be lot of shops in and around the festive areas. And so it was. But, we the Schoenstatt Fathers made a difference. Father Elmar Busse, an active movement father, initiated to make an info stall about Schoenstatt amidst all business centres and wanted to attract the passer-by couples with a game. And so we did together. The diocesan Schoenstatt priest Fr. Heister also helped us. Some families also came to join their hands to make Schoenstatt known to all the people.
Let me narrate the simple game: A partner has to write on the board 3 positive qualities of her or his other partner. And for every quality, the person would be rewarded with a gold coin. The coin is a chocolate wrapped in gold paper.
Some couples came and laughed. Some came and only one of the couple wrote. Some giggled. Some simply ignored. Some were really serious to write down about their partner:
“oh my dear! You are the best man in the World!”
“oh honey, you are my gold piece since you are always there for me!”
“oh dear, you are my gold piece because, you accept me as I am….” and so on…
When a man wrote about his wife, she blushed. And when the wife wrote well about the husband, he was so proud.
Of course, there we had some chances to talk about the Movement, and our works with the families. And then they were given a pamphlet from our Schoenstatt Movement. We did not do any profitable action, but tried to spread about our Schönstatt movement.

I write about this event because it may be an inspiration for your and in your ministry.
