Sellersburg, Indiana
The second annual fundraising dinner was held on Friday, the 25th, from 6 pm to 8pm. Invitations were sent one month before. We had about 90 people attend this occasion. What was new this year was the music by the youth of this parish and the nanny nanny show by some of the mothers.
The menu included Indian beef curry, grilled chicken and pork, naan, rice, salad, and three types of dessert. We had wine, ice tea, coffee, and lemonade as drinks. It was conducted in the parish hall. Kelly and Judy Vogt, Mary and Terry Wright, and Esther and Chris Rainbow were the main persons who helped me organize everything. The Men’s club and Ladies club of the parish sponsored the expense of the dinner and hall was given freely by the parish. There were many people who supported me with their help. The decorating of the hall and preparing of the meat was done on the day before. There was no charge for the dinner, but most of them were generous with donations.
During the meal the youth sang songs and afterwards I had a power point presentation about the latest developments of our community. At the end of the presentation, we had nanny nanny show. The parish priest, Fr. John Curran is a Franciscan. He is very supportive of our mission. Altogether it was a successful endeavor. If everything goes well we can do this every year. The participation from different groups of the parish confirms their interest and readiness to support our mission. Thanks for all the prayers and please continue to pray for us. Fr Joy Puthussery
