Working in the Mary Matha

Fr. Joy Pudussery who served the College as the Vice Principal writes about the college

The beginning

The whole idea of beginning a college for school graduation came with the difficulties that we had to face in the formation of our seminarians in the year 2002. In the beginning, our seminarians had been sent to regular colleges for studies and they tried one or two different colleges. We had to adjust a lot with the programs of the regular colleges and the formators did not get quality time to spend with the seminarians and along with that the performance of our seminarians in the studies was not appealing. As a solution to these problem we thought of trying to have the plus one and plus two studies at our own campus. When we began with the Mary Matha Schoenstatt College in the Mary Matha Schoenstatt Bhavan (Minor Seminary) campus, the delegation council suggested that we also could take some students – both boys and girls - from outside for an experience.

In five years we have had a good experience with it and we now have 84 students including our seminarians. The admission continues for the year 2007. Fr. Joy Madathumpedy, the Principal and Fr. Joy Pudussery, the Vice Principal, invested their time and energy for making this college outstanding. Within this short time we as an educational institute have gained a good name in the locality because of our educational principles, our policies and our commitment.
