With great joy and gratitude

(Videoclip here) With great joy and gratitude we would like to write this little letter. The Sunrise Children’s Village has now 45 children and 7 mothers. They are very glad and feel themselves at home. There are eight houses in the village. In each house there are up to 8 children. One mother takes care of each house.  For the moment, 7 houses are occupied. One house is used as prayer and tuition center.

We have children of different age. Most children go to a school that is situated 8 km away from the village.  Ten children travel 3 km by the public buses to reach the school.  Six children are in the boarding school in the city as the school is 15 km away from the village. If they take the public buses they have to leave the Village at six in the morning and would be back only at six in the evening.  Therefore we opted for the boarding school. It would be very helpful if we had a mini school bus! This would reduce the strain of the children.

The children go very industriously to the school. Each child is very glad to be with us. I have great hope for these children that they would become great personalities in the future. We, the community of the Schoenstatt Fathers are very grateful to you for all your assistance, so that the children of our Village really experience a sunrise in their life. We include you and all your intentions into our prayer. May our dear God accompany and bless you all! Fr. Dhanabal Raja
