Home Day celebration in Madurai

Fr Anbuthurai, the Rector of St. John’s reports: The home day of St. John’s Minor Seminary was on the 6th and 7th December. As many as 70 family members of our brothers took part in the celebration that began with the flag hoisting on the 6th evening and a very solemn Adoration. After supper, we had a cultural program called tham thoom. A depiction of the life of Fr Joseph Kentenich was the highlight of the program. Next day, we had the family presentation. Each student introduced his family members to the community.

Then there was a session on Schoenstatt: an introduction to Schoenstatt with the help of LCD projector, followed by the topic vocation and the role of the family in the son’s vocation. Brothers made a little prayer card for vocation which the parents would pray daily. We had a Solemn Mass in which Fr Pushparaj gave an inspiring sermon. Everything concluded with a sumptuous meal. The parents expressed their appreciation for these two days at St. John’s.
