St. Thomas, the apostle of India, was celebrated on July 3 by the theologians in Bangalore. It was a grand celebration. The Shrine was decorated with a lot of jasmine flowers creating a prayerful atmosphere. Justine Vadakkayil, a theologian, delivered an inspiring sermon. Some theologians also celebrated their feast day. The cutting of the cake and the solemn lunch added more flavor to the celebration.
Feast of Sts. Peter and Paul
Kentenich Vidyaniketan joyfully celebrated the feast of St. Peter and St. Paul. As the theological faculty had holiday, it was the greatest day to remember and celebrate all the persons including the rector who carry the name of the saints.
The celebration began with the Morning Prayer and continued all through the day. In the Evening was the solemn Eucharistic Celebration. The house chapel and shrine were very well decorated to enrich the atmosphere of the feast and the choir of the theologians made the Eucharistic Celebration active and alive. With aarathi-Indian traditional way of welcoming the priest by the people and the people by the priest before the Eucharist begins-the Eucharistic celebration began. The introduction to the Mass and the sermon were delivered by Bros. Alex and Antony respectively. Before the final blessing we all went in procession in to the Shrine and renewed our covenant of love and received the Final Blessings.
After the Holy Mass and dinner there was a beautiful cultural program where different groups of the theologians presented verities of programs like drama, songs and video and power point presentations in a creative way.
(Bro. Kumanan Anthony, a theology student of the Schoenstatt Fathers reported from Kentenich Vidyaniketan, Bangalore)
