The Shrine of Origin, Aloor

The Schoenstatt Family around the Shrine in Aloor celebrated together with the parish church the covenant day and also the feast of the Pilgrim Mother. The first shrine that was set on the Indian ground, attracted approximately 800 pilgrims.

The celebration marked also the conclusion of the solemn rosary feast and also the sending back of the 127 Pilgrim Mother images. Fr. Alappat, the Vicar General of the Diocese of Irinjalakuda was the main celebrant of the Eucharistic celebration which was concelebrated by other 6 Schoenstatt Fathers. Fr. Johnson Nellissery preached about “Mary who served life is called blessed”.

After the Holy Mass, the procession started which went up to the town centre and came back in to the Shrine where all received the Benediction and renewed the covenant of love. With refreshment the celebration ended. Fr Johnson Panthappillil was the coordinator of all the programs.

The Onam celebration of the Schoenstatt Youth has already become a tradition. Reported by Jiju K.
