Harvest festival of Kerala

Onam, the most traditional harvest festival of Kerala was celebrated by the Schoenstatt Youth.

The celebration began with a seminar at 9 am. Seventy five young people gathered for the morning session. Different resource persons took classes. 

Soon after the seminar, there was Onam sadhya (lunch).

In the afternoon session at 2.15 pm, the sports competitions started. Teams from different parishes were invited. More than three hundred participants were there. There were competitions in marathon (6 km) and tug-of-war.

The winners were honored by giving away the cash awards and trophy.

The final item of the celebration was enjoyed by all: the Onam-payasam (pudding).

Fr Johnson Panthappillil and Jiju Kilukkan together with the senior Schoenstatt Boys organized it.

The Onam celebration of the Schoenstatt Youth has already become a tradition.
